Click on the book covers to take you to a link to find out more!

What are you currently reading?

This is a book I got free from NetGalley (thanks to Algonquin Books), I’m nearly halfway through and not quite sure what to make of it yet, although it is compelling.

What did you recently finish reading?:

I really enjoyed this very adult, and definitely NOT Harry Potter-esque book, my review is to follow very shortly so check back if you’re interested!

What do you think you’ll read next?:

This book is on the Richard and Judy Summer Book Club List for 2013, but I had bought it already prior to that as I’ve heard so many good things about it. I’m going to be doing a post on it with my sister Chrissi, comparing our views interview stylee.

What are you reading this week? Please feel free to leave your link and I’ll come pay a visit. Happy Reading Everyone!

  • I will indeed be interested in your view on Casual Vacancy. I’ve had it sitting on my kindle since it was published and have never plucked up the courage to read it in case I hate it. I’d hate to hate anything by JKR…

  • Glad you enjoyed Casual Vacancy. It was super depressing to me and it took me a while to get over the sad stuff that happens. But it was well written! Definitely NOT harry potter. Looking forward to your LIght Between Oceans review!

  • Hi Beth,

Three very diverse books on offer this week.

The ‘Stedman’ book has featured on many blogs over the last few weeks, although I have yet to see a review from any of the sites which I regularly visit. I do love this cover version though, many alternative covers simply show a lighthouse, which although in keeping with the storyline, I don’t think are quite so atmospheric as the one which you feature.

I have only recently decided to join NetGalley, having so far resisted the temptation to add yet more books to my ever exploding TBR pile. The ‘Levinson’ book has to be added to my own reading list though, so I may pop over to NetGalley later, to see if I can ‘bag me a copy’! The synopsis alone sounds compelling enough for me and I hope that you get into it a bit more and start to enjoy it fully.

    Happy Reading!

    • Thanks very much Yvonne, I know I think I prefer this Stedman cover. Beware, NetGalley is dangerous, I now have 20 books approved and waiting to be read… as if I don’t have enough already! I know what you mean about the exploding TBR pile.

  • Ohhh, can’t wait to see what you thought of Casual Vacancy. I’ve heard a lot of people really didn’t like it, but I wondered if that was because it was so different from what we’re used to. Hopefully I’ll get around to reading it one day. 🙂
